हरारे में खेले गए फाइनल मुकाबले में भारतीय अंडर-19 टीम ने इंग्लैंड को 100 रन से हराया। भारत ने इंग्लैंड के सामने 412 रन का लक्ष्य रखा था। जवाब में इंग्लिश टीम 40.2 ओवर में 311 रन रन पर सिमट गई। टीम इंडिया के लिए वैभव सूर्यवंशी फाइनल के सुपरस्टार रहे। उन्होंने 80 गेंद में 175 रन की ताबड़तोड़ पारी खेली। वहीं, इंग्लैंड की ओर से कैलब फाल्कनर ने शतक जड़ा, लेकिन टीम को नहीं जिता पाए। फाल्कनर ने 67 गेंद पर 115 रन की पारी खेली।
टॉस जीतकर पहले बल्लेबाजी करने उतरी भारतीय टीम की शुरुआत खराब रही थी। 20 पर पहला झटका लगा था। एरॉन जॉर्ज नौ रन बनाकर आउट हुए थे। हालांकि, इसके बाद वैभव सूर्यवंशी और कप्तान आयुष म्हात्रे ने इंग्लिश गेंदबाजों की बखिया उधेड़ कर रख दी। दोनों ने दूसरे विकेट के लिए 90 गेंद में 142 रन की साझेदारी निभाई।
म्हात्रे 51 गेंद में सात चौके और दो छक्कों की मदद से 53 रन बनाकर आउट हुए। वैभव ने 32 गेंद में अर्धशतक और 55 गेंद में शतक पूरा किया। फिर 71 गेंद में 150 रन बनाए। वह 80 गेंद में 15 चौके और 15 छक्कों की मदद से 175 रन बनाए। वैभव ने तीसरे विकेट के लिए वेदांत त्रिवेदी के साथ 39 गेंद में 89 रन की साझेदारी निभाई।
वैभव का विकेट 251 के स्कोर पर गिरा। इसके बाद भारत ने 160 रन बनाए और सात विकेट गंवाए। वेदांत ने 36 गेंद में 32 रन, विहान मल्होत्रा ने 36 गेंद में 30 रन की पारी खेली। वहीं, अभिज्ञान कुंडू ने 31 गेंद में 40 रन बनाए। आरएस अंबरीश 18 रन बना सके। वहीं, कनिष्क चौहान ने 20 गेंद में नाबाद 37 रन बनाए। खिलन पटेल तीन रन, हेनिल पटेल पांच रन बनाकर आउट हुए। इंग्लैंड की ओर से जेम्स मिंटो ने तीन विकेट लिए। वहीं, सेबास्टियन मॉर्गन और एलेक्स ग्रीन को दो-दो विकेट मिले। वहीं, मैनी लम्सडन को एक विकेट मिला।
जवाब में इंग्लैंड की भी शुरुआत खराब रही। 19 पर टीम को पहला झटका लगा। जोसेफ मूर्स 17 रन बनाकर आउट हो गए। इसके बाद बेन डॉकिंस और बेन मायेस ने दूसरे विकेट के लिए 49 गेंद में 74 रन की साझेदारी निभाई। मायेस और डॉकिंस के आउट होते ही इंग्लैंड का मध्यक्रम लुढ़क गया। डॉकिंस ने 56 गेंद में सात चौके और दो छक्कों की मदद से 66 रन की पारी खेली। वहीं, मायेस 28 गेंद में सात चौके और दो छक्कों की मदद से 45 रन बनाकर आउट हुए।
कप्तान थॉमस रियू 18 गेंद में 31 रन बनाकर आउट हुए। राल्फी अल्बर्ट और सेबास्टियन मॉर्गन खाता नहीं खोल सके, जबकि फरहान अहमद एक रन बना सके। जेम्स मिंटो ने कैलब फाल्कनर के साथ मिलकर आठवें विकेट के लिए 80 गेंद में 92 रन की साझेदारी निभाई। मिंटो 28 रन बनाकर आउट हुए। फाल्कनर ने शतक लगाया, लेकिन तब तक काफी देर हो चुकी थी।
लम्सडेन तीन रन बनाकर आउट हुए। फाल्कनर आखिरी विकेट के रूप में पवेलियन लौटे। वह 67 गेंद में नौ चौके और सात छक्कों की मदद से 115 रन बना सके। भारत की ओर से आरएस अंबरीश ने तीन और दीपेश देवेंद्रन ने दो विकेट लिए। वहीं, कनिष्क चौहान को भी दो विकेट लिए। खिलन पटेल और आयुष म्हात्रे को एक-एक विकेट मिला।
