अश्वेत आंदोलन का समर्थन कर रहे सेलेब्स से अभय देओल ने पूछा सवाल, 'फेयरनेस क्रीम का समर्थन अब बंद कर देंगे?'

अभय देओल ने इंस्टाग्राम पर एक पोस्ट साझा कर पूछा है कि क्या सेलिब्रेटी फेयरनेस क्रीम्स का समर्थन अब बंद कर देंगे? इसके साथ ही अभिनेता ने एक लंबा पोस्ट लिखकर भारत में फेयरनेस क्रीम्स की खरीद और बिक्री का आंकड़ा दिया है। साथ ही अभय ने इस पोस्ट में उन साइट्स का नाम भी लिखा है जिन पर ये फेयरनेस क्रीम्स बेची जाती हैं।

अपने पोस्ट में अभय देओल ने लिखा, 'भारत में फेयरनेस क्रीम्स की उत्पत्ति कुछ सालों में हुई है, पहले फेयरनेस क्रीम्स और अब स्किन ब्राइटनिंग या स्किन वाइटनिंग जैसे क्रीम्स तक। अब तो बहुत से ब्रांड्स फेयरनेस क्रीम्स जैसे नाम से जुड़ना नहीं चाहते, तो क्या अब हम एचडी ग्लो, व्हाइट ब्यूटी, व्हाइट ग्लो, फाइन फेयरनेस जैसे ब्रांड्स बेचेंगे। इतने सालों में इन कंपनियों ने पुरुषों की ओर ध्यान देना शुरू कर दिया है जो अब फेयर एंड हैंडसम बनना चाहते हैं।'

इससे पहले अभय देओल ने उन सेलेब्स और मिडिल क्लास के लोगों को आड़े हाथों लिया था, जो जॉर्ज फ्लॉयड की मौत पर तो अपनी आवाज बुलंद कर रहे हैं, लेकिन अपने ही देश की समस्याओं पर खामोश रहते हैं। उन्होंने अपने इंस्टाग्राम अकाउंट पर एक तस्वीर साझा की थी, जिसमें लिखा था, 'अप्रवासियों, गरीबों और अल्पसंख्यकों की जिंदगी भी मायने रखती हैं।'

इसके साथ ही अभय देओल ने अपने पोस्ट में लिखा था, 'शायद अब इसका समय भी आ गया है? अब कई सेलेब्स और मिडिल क्लास अमेरिका में नस्लभेद के खिलाफ अपनी राय रख रहे हैं, वो शायद देखना चाहेंगे कि उनके अपने देश में क्या हो रहा है? अमेरिका ने पूरी दुनिया को हिंसा का निर्यात किया है। उन्होंने इसे पहले की अपेक्षा और भी ज्यादा खतरनाक जगह बना दिया है। ऐसा होना ही था। मैं ये नहीं कह रहा कि वहां के लोगों के साथ ऐसा होना चाहिए। मैं कह रहा हूं कि इसे एक बड़े स्तर पर देखने की कोशिश करिए। मैं कह रहा हूं कि अपने देश में चल रही गंभीर समस्याओं के बारे में बात करके उनका समर्थन करिए। मैं कह रहा हूं कि उनके नेतृत्व का पालन करें, लेकिन उनके कार्यों का अनुसरण न करें। अपने देश के लिए प्रासंगिक कार्यों को करें, उनके लिए मुखर बनें। ब्लैक लाइव्स मूवमेंट इसी के बारे में ही तो है। ये हमारी उनकी नहीं, बल्कि ये पूरी पृथ्वी की लड़ाई है जो इस समय भारी जोखिम में है।'

Maybe it’s time for these now? Now that “woke” indian celebrities and the middle class stand in solidarity with fighting systemic racism in America, perhaps they’d see how it manifests in their own backyard? America has exported violence to the world, they have made it a more dangerous place, it was but inevitable that it would come back karmically. I’m not saying they deserve it, I’m saying look at the picture in it’s totality. I’m saying support them by calling out the systemic problems in your own country, because they turn out to be one and the same thing. I’m saying follow their lead but not their actions.
